Open role
Mechatronics Engineering Intern
- Concept Development
- Internship
- Melbourne · On-site
The role
A paid internship inside a working product-development studio: real client concept work, rapid prototyping on our workshop floor, and a mentor in each discipline you touch.
What you'll do
- Build proof-of-concept prototypes: 3D printing, laser cutting, basic machining.
- Assist with breadboard and dev-kit firmware experiments.
- Run structured tests and document results for concept feasibility studies.
- Support the studio: fixtures, test setups, bill-of-materials research.
- Present your work to the engineering team at the end of each sprint.
What we look for
- Currently studying mechatronics, electrical or mechanical engineering (penultimate or final year).
- Evidence you build things outside coursework — projects, teams, repos.
- Basic CAD and some exposure to microcontrollers (Arduino/STM32/ESP32 fine).
- Curiosity across disciplines and comfort asking questions.
- Available 2–3 days per week for a 6-month placement.
